貼日本丸岡市的推動寫簡短信"Short letters can say a lot"
日本現存建城歷史最久遠的丸岡城天守閣，城內有一書簡碑，碑上刻著德川家康建府功臣本多重次在兵荒馬亂中寄給其妻的一封短信。原文為「一筆口上、火口用心、口口口口口口口、馬肥口口」翻譯成中文為：「敬上一筆，要小心火燭，別讓小孩阿仙哭泣，要把馬養肥」。
原信內容只有十七個字，譯成中文二十二個字。內容簡明扼要，出征在外的軍人寫回家的一封短信把所有的事情都都交代清楚。在繁忙的戰事中，還能如此心繫家庭，從平淡的信文中自可看出其細膩之處。遂成就丸岡町為日本書信文化的發祥地……。
「一筆啟上賞」是日本的財團法人丸岡町文化振興事業團於一九九三年開始舉辦的一項徵文活動的名稱。每年的得獎作品都會集結成冊發行出版，至今已發行十三 集，此系列叢書在日本累積銷售量已達到一四０萬冊。得獎作品集?有些內容曾經被改編拍成電視劇、電影、動畫片、漫畫、以及CD有聲書。這些作品集過去亦曾 發行過日英對照版及日韓對照版，此次是首次發行中日文對照版，因而引起日本讀賣新聞的追蹤報導。
Dr. Deming 是這方面的落實者 台灣還有許多人有他的通信 (p. 46)
