Why did Mylan Pharmaceuticals double the list price of the EpiPen, which delivers an emergency shot of anti-allergy medication, bringing the cost to $608 for a two-dose package and the total increase since 2007 to nearly 550 percent? Because its board decided to dramatically boost the pay of its top executives -- but only if they more than doubled the company's earnings per share. Pesto! CEO Heather BreschBresch earned $18.9 million last year, up from $9 million in 2013.

It’s amazing how much corporate performance can improve when share prices are linked to wildly-excessive executive pay. And amazing how much consumers can be forced to cough up when such pay agreements occur in an industry where competition is inadequate.

YouBike大當機 2016/08/31, 5-23 影響約14萬人次

全台YouBike微笑單車租借站大當機！YouBike站昨清晨5時起出現史無前例大規模故障，營運廠商捷安特公司指是因台中、彰化車柱軟體更新程式出問題，造成包括台北、新北、桃園、新竹、台中及彰化等6縣市共778站點全受波及，影響約14萬人次，不少學生、上班族要借車時才發現當機，急得直跳腳，有人改走路上班、還有人走回家改騎機車，抱怨不已。捷安特公司公開致歉並加緊搶修，截至昨晚11時已有251站點恢復營運，力拼今早能全面恢復營運。.......

軟體更新程式毀損

捷安特發言人劉麗珠昨出面致歉說，昨凌晨台中及彰化中區停車柱進行軟體更新時，程式突然毀損，因系統連動連帶影響其他縣市的車柱，無法確認每站各車柱是新版或舊版軟體，工程人員須用筆電到每個車柱確認，平均一站要花1小時，總計出動40組約80餘人逐站搶修，確保每個車柱都能更新到最新版本。
劉麗珠說，民眾若在當機前持有單車，故障期間仍可到任一租借站還車，將不會被扣款。至於許多民眾都抱怨業者未通知暫停營運消息，她說，該公司4年前就推出「YouBike微笑單車App」系統，也曾宣導，只要民眾下載此系統並啟動推播，便可在第一時間收到告知；最新修復進度也會於每個整點，透過官網發布，民眾可先上網查詢。

疑測試不足出狀況

而至昨晚11時，歷經約18小時搶修，已有局部租借站陸續恢復營運，包括雙北市129個、彰化28個、台中70個、桃園24個等251個站點恢復營運，捷安特指，昨營業損失約100多萬元，無法掌握是哪些民眾想要借車，無法賠償損失。
台灣大車隊經理黃韋寰表示，昨早通勤時段的計程車派車成長約5∼10％，且多為短程客，預估可能是受到YouBike當機的影響。
國立交通大學資訊管理研究所教授陳安斌說，為讓系統更有效率，軟體會不斷升級，工程師改寫軟體更新版本是必要過程，懷疑可能是因工程師為追求效率，測試時間不足導致出狀況。
陳安斌另說，由於無法從遠端遙控更改程式，工程師只能帶著筆電到每台車柱確認恢復資料，這已是最糟狀況。

彰化縣政府說，台中、彰化系統更新程式錯誤，導致大當機，已要求YouBike提升系統穩定度。捷安特公司指，未來會多加反覆測試，待系統測試穩定再進行版本更新。
